Photos are absolute bangers! Dig reading your pieces, they feel real and sincere to say the least. Haven’t gotten back on the bike much these days but still awesome “cheering” you on.
Def making steel cut oats in my rice cooker next time I do them 🥲 your writing is beautiful as always and thanks for being vulnerable with us on this corner of the internet
Your writing, like your racing, is honest, raw, and captivating. Guess that’s why folks dig what you’re doing. You flew by me around 5pm - just ringing the bell and moving right along. Didn’t get to thank you for the ricotta recipe which sure helped my first solo 24HoP. Sorry things went sideways but psyched to see you throw down next year.
Great story. Love your writing. It's funny how after hours alone on your bike, or running, or even in a car driving for miles- whatever- and you're in your own head for so long....chatting with some super nice people you've never met can totally uplift your whole worldview.
Sharing the lows is just as inspiring as sharing the highs, especially to those of us going through our own training (and life) lows. Thank you! Great things ahead
I love this post. I was supposed to be there .. got in by waitlist for the solo female. Have been dealing with a back/muscle thing which affected training. Could’ve just gone for the giggles but … I have had a mental block with training/riding for the last two months . It’s a mix of physically not being 100% but also mentally dealing with work stress.. I work in the industry… and stress does exist.
I checked in at some point during the night and you were blazing!
Thank you for posting. It seriously makes me feel like like I’m not such a scrub. My support crew emphasized nutrition… nutrition training..etc. I’m hypoglycemic so I have to be extra prepared. If I chose to race .. just because (my ego)... I’d be screwed.
aww I’m sorry to hear you weren’t able to race. there’s a fine fine line between what we call “hardcore” and just being stupid and it takes a lot of introspection to figure out where that is. kudos for being smart and hope it all aligns better for us next year!
I watered down my Fage yesterday!!!
pretty sure I could be tiktok famous for this

omg this makes me so happy! sorry if I didn’t say anything, there were some dark places out there 😂 see ya next year maybe!
“at least as much as proving my own physical and mental capabilities” you can probably do without this. :)
I don’t know Tryndon but I want to echo their words, phenomenal effort.

The 24HOP update was nice, but that steel cut oats tip was the real star of the piece 😁. Thanks and welcome back to the eternal winter!

I cut my greek yogurt with some heavy cream kefir I made and it's perfect.
omg tell me more about this kefir
mixed some starter with heavy cream cut with some half+half in a mason, sits out for 24 hours and then fridge for 8. that's it!
youth lagoon is the best! thank you for reminding me to revisit them!
